Bike Week celebrates the whole new world of opportunities which open up to you when you ride a bike. Simply put, regardless of your age, ability or level of fitness riding a bike to get somewhere equals fun and freedom. Check out the calendar of events as there is sure to be something for you.

Get Around Warrnambool; On Your Bike:

Ride your bike to a participating Cafe’, scan the QR code and go into the draw to win a Samsung Tablet or $100 voucher to a local bike store.

Bike’the’Bool:

Keep your eyes peeled for the “I love my Bike” pop ups. Take a photo with your bike near the Bike’the’Bool sign, upload your photo to Bike’the’Bool Facebook event to enter into the Draw to win $200 from the Warrnambool owned and operated business of your choice.

Monday 16 May

Join the Archie Graham Social Cyclists for a morning of bike riding and fun. If the freedom of riding a bike along the foreshore promenade or rail trail with a group appeals to you. Prior to the ride you will be met by volunteers to introduce you to the group. Contact Clare Vaughan, 5559 4920  to book your place.

Bike Social Ride: Deakin Student Social Bike Riding Session

Deakin Students are dusting off their bikes for BIKE WEEK. What a great way to get around AND meet new people. A quick refresh on bike riding, and finishing up with a refreshing morning tea.

 

Wednesday 18 May

Women on Wheels- It doesn’t matter if you hit the roads and trails for 20km rides or like a relaxing ride around the corner to meet a friend for a coffee, we all need to have some bike mechanic skills. Join other Wonderful Women to get the basics so you know you can handle any small emergency like a puncture.

Thursday 19 May

Riding a bike is an adventure- why not spend the day exploring the shared paths and trails. From Logans Beach to Levys point (12km one way/1.5hr on your bike) you don’t even have to leave the path. Or if you live up North why not explore the Russells Creek trail (8km return/ 1hr on your bike).

Walk/Ride Safely to School Day. Fun and Free- walking or riding a bike has so many benefits. You can help keep our kids safe when you drive by slowing in local streets and making eye contact at intersections.
